If Emily isn't out in time, you could order Molly's dog who is the twin of Emily's dog. Then your dd would have something to open on her birthday and they (dd and the dog) could both enjoy the anticipation of Emily's arrival.

Like Laura said, you might also be able to order earlier if you are a club member. If your daughters aren't members already, you might want to look in to it. They give out stars for reading the books and for doing fun projects. You can even redeem the stars for clothes for your daughters or their dolls.

It looks like a great opportunity to do fun things with a child. I wish I had a little one to join the club with me.

That is true, but unless they want to write books about the "new historical," it doesn't include the reading aspect that alliesunshine wants. I would go with what most everyone else is saying and wait for Emily to come out. It looks like her hair may even be a bit redder than Felicity's. She is supposedly coming out in August or September, but if you're in the Club, you might be able to get her as early as July. Good luck with whatever you decide, and, oh, welcome to the board !

Welcome to the board! Red hair is cute; I should know because I'm a redhead, lol! Emily or Nellie seem like good choices, like others have said!

I love the dog idea and I am checking on the membership right now. It would be great if she was available early August. Just in time for RH#2's birthday!

Welcome to the board. I think the book, Brave Emily has a late August release date. She looks like such a cute doll, however. I think she would be worth the wait.

I agree with most of the board members. My vote is for Emily. However, I love Molly. She was my first AG and (as a red-head myself!) in the 80's, I didn't have a choice of Felicity so I chose Molly. But, you can't go wrong with Emily. She is the first "friend" doll I am actually looking forward to seeing (any maybe purchasing!)

Let us know what you decide!
